Friday evening was my second recital opportunity. Last March I played two pieces in a small studio recital in my first ever recital. The one Friday evening was much larger - more people in attendance, and my piece was far more complicated.
I played the Boccherini Minuet from book 3 of the Suzuki method. As soon as I sat down to play I completely forgot the piece. All I could remember was that it started on “D”. After a fumbled start, and needing to restart the trio section, I was able to play through the rest reasonably well. I also played through it much faster than normal.
The Suzuki recording of the piece is 3 minutes and 14 seconds long. My pace is somewhat more sedate as it usually takes me about 5 minutes and 15 seconds to play through the piece. The video recording of Friday evening’s performance is 4 minutes and 36 seconds, which includes my restarts. I think I was under the influence of more than a littleĀ adrenaline.
Here then for your viewing pleasure is my performance.
